Kiraset is an independent collection manager for Pokémon cards, built by Tobias Haas in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany.
Thirty years ago, at the age of six, I got my first Pokémon cards when the game came out. They got lost over the years and I never found them again.
When I started collecting again with my two children, I was looking for a better way to keep track of our cards, our sets and what they are worth. Kiraset is the tool I wanted to have.
Kira (キラ) is Japanese for sparkle. In Japan, a “kira card” is a shiny, holographic card – the one every collector looks twice at. “Set” stands for the card sets we are all trying to complete.
- The card catalogue – sets, numbers, rarities, artwork – comes from the open TCGdex database.
- Prices are Cardmarket trend values, shown with their date. They are an orientation, not a guaranteed sale price.
- The camera scanner runs on your device. The photo is not uploaded to recognise a card.
- Kiraset is an independent project and not affiliated with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures or GAME FREAK.
